Artistic Involvement: Auditions

If you are interested in auditioning for a role in any Summer Garden production, please read the following information carefully.

• Auditions for all productions will be announced on this website’s home page and detailed on this Auditions page. In addition, audition announcements will be sent via email to all people who have shared an email address with us. Please sign up for our Email Newsletter at the top of the page. Casting calls will also be published in selected area newspapers, including the Annapolis Capital.
• A minimum of two auditions will be held for each show, at different hours and days to try to accommodate everyone’s schedule. You must audition in person to be considered for a part. Only under exceptional circumstances will auditions be available at times other than those announced.
• Audition information on this page will provide key information you need to know before attending. Specifications may cover a wide range of preferred requirements, including gender, age appearance, body structure, specific dancing or singing skills, etc. We will keep specifications as liberal as possible and will in all cases look for the best combination of all factors to pick the ideal candidate for each part.
• You must complete an Audition Application, which will be provided at the time of the scheduled auditions. We require a current photo with your application but will take one on site if you do not have one.
• Please abide by the specifications outlined in the Casting Call. These will usually involve the kind of music and/or dance and/or oration to be performed.
• Auditions are frequently held in public accommodations such as schools. Prospects are cautioned that they must abide by all rules and regulations of the host institution, including but not limited to smoking rules.
• All auditioners will receive a follow-up — if you are among the lucky ones it will be a call back. Requirements for call-backs will be provided at that time.
• No announcement of casting decisions will be released until the process is completed.
