Artistic Involvement

ASGT offers many opportunities for you to get involved onstage, backstage, or behind-the-scenes. Individuals of all ages, ethnicities, and experience levels are encouraged to participate as an actor, director, stage manager, choreographer, music director, designer, or as part of the technical or running crew.

ASGT holds annual auditions for those interested in acting, singing, and dancing on our stage. For off-stage roles, your past experience as well as your interest, enthusiasm, and commitment will open doors for your participation. But even if you’re new to the theatre, please read on for more information and then contact us with your questions or to express your interest in getting involved.

A note about compensation: As a nonprofit community theatre, ASGT operates with no paid staff. The biggest rewards anyone receives from participation are personal satisfaction, valuable experience, and the pride of giving back. Our actors, backstage crew, and technical crew are not paid. Directors, choreographers and stage managers usually receive small stipends, as do music directors and orchestra/band members. Set designers and builders, costumers, and properties masters may or may not receive compensation. The Officers and Board Members of ASGT serve without compensation.
